October 30, 2008 – In a glowing editorial today, Michael McMahon's congressional campaign won the influential endorsement of the Staten Island Advance in the race for the 13th Congressional District seat covering all of Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn. The Advance touted McMahon’s record of accomplishment on the City Council, including his championing of the city’s first solid waste management plan, creating more ferry service, and spearheading the effort to expand health care services on Staten Island.
