via NBC's Virginia affiliate WAVY, NYC congressman Fossella charged with DWI outside D.C.;

Police spokesman Lieutenant Ray Hazel says Vito Fossella, who represents Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, was arrested some time between midnight and 2 a.m.

Hazel says Fossella was charged with driving while intoxicated as a first offense, which under Virginia law requires a blood-alcohol level of 0.08% or higher. He says he can't provide further details on the arrest, including Fossella's exact blood-alcohol level or where in the city he was arrested.

NY-13: Republican Rep. Vito Fossella was arrested for DUI last night (hat tip to ortcutt). This can't be good for him, not in a district with a slight Democratic lean, not when the DCCC has already targeted him for defeat.

I wish this had happened a year ago..it would've been the nail to finish him off. As it stands, I still dont feel confident with the choices we democrats have. Maybe someone will come out of the woodwork.
