Harrison picks up three new club endorsement
Interesting. Steve has a post over at The Albany Project where he mentions the following campaign news;
In the last week we've had over FIVE HUNDRED new donors on the Internet. The Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats (CBID), Lambda Independent Democrats (LID) and Jim Owels Liberal Democratic Club have joined our already impressive list of endorsers. They all come with great volunteer support.
I hadn't heard about those endorsements previously. Definitely some positive movement for the campaign. They join three other clubs who already endorsed;
* American Heritage Democratic Club
* Democratic Organization of Richmond County
* Staten Island Democratic Assocaiton
Labels: Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats, endorsement, Jim Owels Liberal Democratic Club, Lambda Independent Democrats

None of the three new Democratic clubs are in the 13th Congressional District. And the NY Daily News Daily Politics blog reports (7-1-08) that the NYS AFL-CIO has endorsed Michael McMahon.
"On the Democratic side, AFL-CIO President Denis Hughes today announced an early endorsement of Councilman Michael McMahon, saying the union decided to move the vote on him up a month due to his "overwhelming support of the local labor movement" in the 13th CD.
The union will now start to coordinate its member-to-member mailers, phone banks, worksite flyers and door-to-door visits on McMahon's behalf."
I didn't see the Owels endorsement anywhere, but Harrison was also endorsed according to their website by Chris Owens and Democrats.com Bob Fertik.
The union endorsement disgusts me. I heard the carpenters union staged a protest against McMahon’s brother Tom in August. We have boss tweed in Staten Island and Jimmy Hoffa running our unions.
