Meet the Candidates

Candidate speculation is retired for now. The new post is meet the candidates since the third parties couldn't let the big two have all the frantic fun.

update: The endorsements listed below are just of the county party endorsements. While there are many other endorsements by clubs and organizations with Harrison having most of them, they have been covered previously and this is just to get a picture of the potential primaries for each party. Since I am adding this update I might also mention that Susan Overeem won the Libertarian endorsement.

I believe the vote in the Brooklyn Dem Party was 1-0.

Gives a whole new meaning to "one Man One Vote" doesn't it?

I cannot believe how pathetic the local Republican Party is that they nominate a guy whose own son wants to run against him.

Frank Powers (the father) is a no-name. Out of the hundreds of thousands of people in the district, he's the best the local GOP can field?

Fossella's seat should have been a secure GOP seat regardless of the person sitting there. Perhaps Powers will win, but I doubt it.

Shame on the local GOP for never having built a real legacy; for never having groomed the next generation of leaders to fill in during moments like this.

Talk about oligarchs in the real sense of the word.

There is no real patriotism or civic duty in the local GOP. It's just business as usual, though in this case: reluctantly.
