A fifth debate

STATEN ISLAND/BROOKLYN, NY –Democratic Congressional candidate Steve Harrison (NY 13th Brooklyn Staten Island) and Vito Fossella, New York City’s only Republican House member, have agreed to an additional debate. The new debate will be held in the afternoon of October 9, the same day of the first scheduled debate which will go on as scheduled. The new debate hosted by the Willowbrook AARP, takes place at 2 pm, at 2329 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY.

John W. Lavelle, Assemblyman and Chairman of the Richmond County Democrats, remarked, “This is a great opportunity for citizens throughout the island to hear both candidates. We believe the contest will benefit our candidate, Steve Harrison.”

“It’s rare for incumbents to agree to one, let alone five debates,” Lavelle continued. “This only reinforces what my colleagues, the voters, and I already know: that Vito Fossella is vulnerable and Steve Harrison is a strong candidate.”
